Upcoming Show and A Gathering of Artists

I am excited to announce that I will have work in the Abita Springs - En Plein Air Exhibition. The opening reception is on November 12th from 5-8pm.  The show will be open November 13th and 14th from 10:00AM to 3:00PM.  The show will have art from almost 20 artists, and will be well worth checking out.

I also participated in A Gathering of Artists put on by Mississippi Plein Air Painters on October 30th in Ocean Springs, MS.  One hundred artists participated, painting all over Ocean Springs for the day.  It was a fantastic event, and I plan on going again next year.  I was able to finish three paintings while I was there. The first painting was completed at Shearwater Park. The sky was blue when I started, but clouds rolled in halfway through. I had to finish based on my memory of how the scene looked when I started. (Shearwater Park, 12" x 12", acrylic on panel)

After lunch, I painted the view from Fort Maurepas, looking out over the beach. (The View From Fort Maurepas, 8" x 24", acrylic on canvas)

In the late afternoon, I painted looking towards the sunset from the beach. It was a fantastic way to spend my Saturday. (Ocean Springs - Late Evening, 12" x 36", acrylic on cradled board)
